Fall Fest

SAVE THE DATE! Downtown Burlingame (DBID) is proud to sponsor the 2024 Burlingame Fall Fest on Howard Avenue, an annual event featuring music, beer garden, food trucks, local business vendors, kids’ zone (petting zoo, train ride, pony ride, jump houses) and Halloween costume contest. This festival was created for our Burlingame Community and surrounding area. It’s a wonderful way to spend time together with family and friends.

Downtown Burlingame, California is 25 minutes south of San Francisco, in San Mateo County. Parking is available at various public lots.

Walk for Breastfeeding Awareness!

Walk for Breastfeeding Awareness!

Help raise awareness for chest/breastfeeding during National Breastfeeding Month. Join us for a one mile round trip walk from Healthy Horizons Breastfeeding Center, 1432 Burlingame Ave, Burlingame, CA to the Burlingame Train Station and back on Saturday, August 24, 2024. Wear a purple shirt to support breastfeeding. Enjoy a free pastry at our Center at 9:45am before we head out for the awareness walk at 10am!

Breastfeeding Awareness Month is a national movement to reinforce the idea that mother’s milk is best for the human brain. Cow milk is to build bones for a baby calf ready to roam the field. Join Healthy Horizons as they provide facts, support services and skilled professionals to help women on the job and at home wishing to breastfeed their babies.

Terrarium Craft for Adults (Group 2)

Bring a glass jar (about pasta sauce-sized) and we'll provide the rest of the materials to make a terrarium with succulents and other cuttings. We're doing this outside on the upper level terrace so you may want a hat. The group size is limited to 10 people, plus staff. Wednesday English Conversation Group

Virtual Homework Center

We welcome Kindergarteners through 8th graders to be paired with a Teen Mentor (with a 3.5+ GPA) for help with reading, writing, science, math, and languages including Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, French, Turkish, and Tamil. 

Virtual Homework Center runs over Zoom every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 4pm-6pm.
Tuesday, January 18 - Wednesday, April 20, 2022 (Except the weeks of February 21-23 and March 28-30).

Zoom Storytime with Youth Poet Laureate Madeleine Hur

We are celebrating National Poetry Month by inviting Youth Poet Laureate Madeleine Hur to read on Zoom "Change Sings: A Children's Anthem" by Amanda Gorman, a National Youth Poet Laureate.
